Sweetness in a winterised world

I think this is one of my favourite photos. Not technically anywhere near the best but it was a quick grab the camera moment and shoot and cross your fingers!!! And I love it. A sweet moment between my 2 littlest boys.

This was a grab what I can reach layout, using what ever let overs I could find after finishing all of the final little masters touches on Tuesday ( thanks for all the good lucks!!, Beth and I drove them in today. ).

And I just realised it fits the Scrap the Boys requirements for this month!!

Ps I was going to write about how Ive been a bit blue lately, feeling very "winterised" for lack of a better word, how I was ready for spring and to crawl out of my winterness. But as I got half way through this post Spicks and Specks started and I dont feel so winterised after that.

PPS but then I watched TMZ ( which I had taped earlier) and saw something about a nest full of insect eggs that had been found in some ex reality televisions stars leg and now Im just grossed out.

PPPs - you really cant be shocked That I watch TMZ after I posted about Zack and Kelly right.

Oh and PPPPS - I lost my keys and had to go out without them today. For only the 7th time so far this year.

PPPPPS I have no idea why keys are just not on my radar either.

PPPPPPs did you see how many ps's I got in there????? Just to make up for the fact that I hadnt used many while I was feeling winterised

PPPPPPPS thanks guys for hanging in there. Love you all!!!

Sometimes

Super simple is the only way to go. Esp with THIS sketch! over at The Scrappers Outlet.
So thats what I did.

Though I worked on other stuff as well today — finished every single fiddly bit of my masters! Wish me luck. I dont think I have a hope in hell, but I had fun any way. Esp with my OTP. Cant wait to share that with you.

Scrap Tuesday!

Just an ordinary Tuesday - good food, good friends and good fun!!!!
And I spent most of it, waiting waiting waiting waiting,

Till it arrived.

A Hotted up holden ute with a skinny 12 year old driver with a skunk strip in his hair, oh the best part — his number plate spelt chikko.

Dude ( Sorry sometimes there are just no other words.....), I so do not think so!!!!!!!.

But he quickly left, after he had carried in two big boxes!

My new bed.

Ahhhhh non brokeney bliss!!
So any way back to Tuesday.

Daph working hard.

And since my picture of Beth was very OOF here is a slightly less OOf of what she drags along EVERY week to Scrap Tuesday, now thats dedication!

My main scrappy business today was finally trying my hand at these flowers. Only singed my fingers once!! Yay Go me!! And im dangerous crafter. If there is a way to hurt myself, I will find it. You should see me with a hot glue gun, actually stay far far far away from me with a hot glue gun!!!
I had read a few tutorials online and so just winged it, but if you want you can find a tutorial here. I learnt a lot from my first 2 and with a few slight changes cant wait to do more. I had a really really light champagne white colour but I think that colour requires more patience then I have, not to get black edges on the pale fabric.

And just cause he is very very cute, An exhausted Kook, who feel asleep before I could wash his lil face.

Now if you will excuse me, I am off to watch some dear friends get chased around a hospital by a gunman. And as it's a season finale its 2 hours of wonderfulness!

Ps - Hubbys band is playing at the Alroy Tavern at Plumpton on Sunday afternoon. Its a great place for the whole family, my kids love it there. We would love to see you there.
PPs for those interested I think there is some sort of Car show on there in the morning. Maybe i should hunt down young hotted up ute guy.

Sleeping beauty

I woke up and it was friday today - big damn deal you say? Well, yeah, thats what follows Thursday??

Not for me. This time anyway.

When I went to bed it was Tuesday afternoon.

I played the game.
 And I lost, big time.

I was terrified of playing the game. I was terrified of having my healed perforated esophagus open up again. No more hospital!! Thankfully it stayed shut. And Today I feel like my normal self again ( sorry to those close to me......)!
So I celebrated being well, Scraploot. 50% off a lot of things. The best way to celebrate ( esp. When that morning a package had arrived from Little Scrapbook Shop!, and I was finally well enough to open my What is Old is New Again  June Vintage kit that had arrived on Wed ( where do you guys shop online??)).
So anyway a million years ago when I last posted I said I would up date what Ive been up to, so here are a few layouts that Ive been working on, some from quiet a bit ago ( retreat and beyond).

My I entry from my art journal

Ill be back with my catch up on my Boot Camp tomorrow, tonight, I, the band widow that I am, have a date with some little boys for Sandlot Marathon. Ill catch up on my blog reading tomorrow night ( nrl season....).

Ps See those alphas up the top? The Heidi Grace ones?? Im on the search for more. And so far its fruitless. They are my go to, In fact I have used them a couple of times on the stuff above. They alter wonderfully well.

PPs winner of my mini Giveaway was

aussiescrapper said...

I wonder if the green was the colour least liked!!!!!!!!

Wait for it......

Actual content ahead!!!! ( even the bunnies above are staring in awe at the awsomeness )
I know Im as shocked as you are! This family is finally on the wellness train ( well getting off ailment station anyway) , So slowly Im starting to do things like — get to read my favourite blogs, and small crafts.

oh and post about swaps that happened a bit ago (during the poor princesses disaster)

Peeps!!!!!

Remember my call out — oh about a million years ago?
Well, the amazing , most lovely Kayla answered my call.
And in the mail, just after my hospital stay — bright blue squishy Peeps. We oohed and ahhed in awe of their blueness, and I squealed with delight over the few lil scrapping extras she added!!
And as for what we thought of the taste of them,  well there is a reason there were 4 left over for me to photograph! They were alright, but with an odd aftertaste, I was warned about.  After all the amazing Peep crafts I see around the net at easter, Im glad to have tried them. They are very cute, but not really for eating.
Peeps down, candy corn down ( ewwww dont ask me about that adventure!!) What else should I try, anyone???

You know how we are all on the wellness train?? Well it better be fully away from the station on Friday......
Why?
Because of my very first ever, wait for it........

So to get my crafty mojo flowing again, I did the required name tag. No gross sticky labels for me ( besides they literally make me vomit — ughhh just thinking about them gets my gag up)
Double sided, cause thats how I roll.

Side A

Side B
So which side should I rock??

Ps Taking photos of peeps is harder then it looks!!! Esp with the ventolin shakes!
PPs - about the sticky label thing — surely by now you have realised Im a few sandwiches short of a picnic. You should see me deal ( or really not deal) with lolly wrappers like starburst or price stickers.

Wasn't meant to be.....

I saw some extremely cute lil' ol' linen canvases at spotlight a while ago — marked down even! And quickly scooped em up. This is the story of how I made it not so cute anymore.

You know how when you buy something and it's so just right you dont want to use em cause you'll wreck em. That was these.

Finally I said to my self — build a bridge already, Sarah!

So I picked up one and grabbed a few things — letter stickers black paint, a sharpie ( ok, ok, so a faux sharpie) and some beautiful butter yellow oil paint ( It was the nicest yellow in the house — it just so happened to be oil paint......)

Any how,  slapped on those letter stickers and whacked on some black paint.
Now I dont know if you have noticed this - I am extremely impatient when it comes to creating, I have hardly any "wait to dry" time in me.........

So I tried, I made a cuppa, I chatted to the girls ( it was a Scrap Tuesday), I poked the paint, I poked the other thing I was working on that was still wet.  I ate… So after a few seconds had passed, I thought stuff it and pulled em off...

And smudged my S. Had a sook then I recovered its tiny it will be ok. Its gives it character. Gave my self some Faux Amish pep talk
I left it alone to dry, and went and chatted, ate, and poked some more and I waited it out.

 It finally Dried

So I gots my sharpie on. And doodled to my hearts content. It had looked nice in my G page, why not here. Finished, hmmmm needs yellow ( then again I think everything does atm). Yellow oil paint.  Everyone know where this is going.....

Ohhh much better. So I took it outside to photograph, and got some horrid photos and thought Ill take some more later when it's a it better light on my porch. So I picked it up and popped it on my desk to dry. Cause you know its oil paint — needs some time.

Sadly It never got the time it needed. And we never recovered, all those lil yellow dots do make a lovely yellow smudge though....

Taken in its last smudge free moments - Wish.

Ps For those worried about their casual usage of dude. Dont be, Mine was reaching diabolical strength, used in every sentence, enough so it was bugging my eldest ( then again he is a preteen ......) and my husband.
PPs I have one lil ol' linen canvas left - I am now deathly afraid to use it...

Scrap Tuesday!

With just a hint of Sunday! ( been a scrappy start to the week!). Actually feel like its been my first decent scrapping session for a bit. Got things done!

That one is for the WIOIN march sketch challenge,
Nothing like getting things done at the last minute!
Was hoping to get the Dollies sketch done as well, but time slipped away.

This had been sitting for a bit now just waiting to hit my sewing machine. My Big Blue eyed boy.

My very first Double ( very apprehensive, but tried it anyway!)
Wish there was not glare on the last photo. He has his very cute smile going on in that one.
Felt like there was something missing, but I got a very fabulous parcel in the mail from the most wonderful terrific Mel ( who is a  fabulous new dolly!!) Which had some lil butterfly transparencies. Perfect touch!

Thank you so much Miss fantabulous Mel, really perked me up getting some love in the mail.

Our inability to take family photos where everyone is looking at the camera nicely!

Finished off with a quick newborn crochet hat ( for the divine miss Daphne's photography shoots),
But wait what Tuesday middle of the night is not complete without making a cake in the shape of a Wii remote???

So Happy 5th Birthday Tyler Jay. My Very Sweet Boy. ( blue on his face is face paint in the shape on an egg from his very first easter hat parade today)

Ps Im off to Shelly Beach/ The Entrance, very soon, any good scrappy shops I should know about??

Scrap Tuesday!

Is back. I had a short break from it last week cause The Sweet Middle had dental surgery, but I was back with vengeance today, unfortunately so was my singing ( I cant help it and dont really notice Im doing it! For anyone doing the Wisemans Ferry retreat in May, I apologize in advance!).
We gots our scrap on today, amongst chatting and even despite my poor, Im teething 6 teeth at once child!
The first just needed a tiny touch to finish up.

Beachy Love. This is the sweet Middle at his first visit to Poppas,
I used the background I made on a previous Scrap Tuesday

My favourite flowers, just Kaiser scrunched up and inserted into each other, the last of my delicious green dotty paper and some sporty alphas mumma sent from France.
Next up
Head Chief of Mischief ( Excuse the glare. Camera battery is dying, I just got what I could!)
I just sorta stapled and stuck and move around. Sort of just evolved. By this stage I had been holding my teething Kook for most of the day, so it had to be things I could do one handed.

My beautiful spotty sheer ribbon which I had been saving, some more of my hessian Coles bag, a tacky green lacy doodad. Sweet and simple just like My kook, even if he is the mischief king!

Also worked on my A to Z art journal for Friday ( the letter F), and finally got its cover done —which I'll show when I get a new camera battery. The boys get cranky when I steal the Wii batteries!

Ps A great thing about having a preteen in the house, is I get a whole new wardrobe of T-shirts to steal!
PPs Sometimes I call him a protein cause I really want to feed him to the sharks.
