I might just heart swaps

I must admit im more surprised then anyone.

But wait for it ................... Facebook has opened up my swapping world!

I know and I resisted joining for ages.

Im on a sewing page called sew from your stash ( aussie based) and they have a fairy godmother swap.
I.e. someone posts three things they would like — you say sure. Heck I can I can do that and then you list three things you would like while making theirs and sending it off.

I have been the luckiest recipient out of that swap ...… EVER

first Lara received a fabric dolls bed — complete with embroidered pillow and blanket

And I was in desperate need for a crochet roll, not only did I get one in one of my favourite colour combos but wait for it......… FILLED!!!!!

My latest swap was through the yarnbusters page on facebook ( seems to be predominantly US and Aussies).  A lovely lady had mentioned that she had been to a large US craft store to try and get a wooden hook to try — well I now had a spare in the size she needed, so a size 5-mm, in a sweet koala pouch with some lil bear scissors and some furry friends chocolates made their way over there and what I thought was going to be a couple o kool aid pouches made their way over to me.

Instead I received a BOUNTY of kool aid — in so many colours/flavours, in the sweetest little crochet purse ever. I cant wait to start dyeing some yarn with them ( all while keeping it away from the boys ho want to drink them!)

Between the swaps, postcrossing, and my creative penpal swap, my letterbox has officially been named most fun destination in NSW ( even if I am waiting for the electricity bill — anyone want to swap for that)?

Soaking up the last of the sun!!

Winter is my season - in my dreams.

My dreams are filled with warm quilts, hot drinks, trashy telly, soups and good magazines.

And while I do get these things ( in dribs and drabs) in reality my winter is
Snotty noses, endless washing, and cranky kids stuck inside.

So before it hits we are soaking up as much of the outside as we can.......
Walks in mumma made dresses and stockings!!!
Stockings are my favourite thing of dressing little girls.
Under everything!

Art with chalk.
Makes me smile every time I pass the driveway
And pure kid happiness for 40 cents - Bliss!

Our own Ancient ruins with rubble from our deck building

Walks by Nepean River

Eye candy filled street performers in the city

Oh PS - how the heck could I forget about Man Flu. We get a lot of Man flu here - over run by future men!!

PPs - smelly wet dog as well - thats always fun.

Flowers flowers flowers

Just came across this swap, At a new to me blog Chantilly Rose Crafts Im thinking of joining and thought that a few of you guys might be interested!! ( Im just waiting to see if internationals can join in).

Wait for it......

Actual content ahead!!!! ( even the bunnies above are staring in awe at the awsomeness )
I know Im as shocked as you are! This family is finally on the wellness train ( well getting off ailment station anyway) , So slowly Im starting to do things like — get to read my favourite blogs, and small crafts.

oh and post about swaps that happened a bit ago (during the poor princesses disaster)

Peeps!!!!!

Remember my call out — oh about a million years ago?
Well, the amazing , most lovely Kayla answered my call.
And in the mail, just after my hospital stay — bright blue squishy Peeps. We oohed and ahhed in awe of their blueness, and I squealed with delight over the few lil scrapping extras she added!!
And as for what we thought of the taste of them,  well there is a reason there were 4 left over for me to photograph! They were alright, but with an odd aftertaste, I was warned about.  After all the amazing Peep crafts I see around the net at easter, Im glad to have tried them. They are very cute, but not really for eating.
Peeps down, candy corn down ( ewwww dont ask me about that adventure!!) What else should I try, anyone???

You know how we are all on the wellness train?? Well it better be fully away from the station on Friday......
Why?
Because of my very first ever, wait for it........

So to get my crafty mojo flowing again, I did the required name tag. No gross sticky labels for me ( besides they literally make me vomit — ughhh just thinking about them gets my gag up)
Double sided, cause thats how I roll.

Side A

Side B
So which side should I rock??

Ps Taking photos of peeps is harder then it looks!!! Esp with the ventolin shakes!
PPs - about the sticky label thing — surely by now you have realised Im a few sandwiches short of a picnic. You should see me deal ( or really not deal) with lolly wrappers like starburst or price stickers.

A favour from my American Peeps.

Yep Peeps that is the theme here.  See me and the monkeys — opps I mean my three darling (ok 2, ill deal with the babies share) sons, wanna try these Peeps we keep hearing about. I figured that as they are easter stuff they would be sitting on a reduced shelf by now.
So my American Peeps, I propose a swap.
You send Peeps, ill send Tim Tams.
From what I can figure out, your president is doing you a grave injustice by not having these readily available over there, and for the very unfortunate, whom have never heard of Tim Tams click right here.

So If any one is interested in doing a mini swap, click on my email button, The boys ( ok so I might share......) would be eternally grateful. ( though a bit scared — you see we tried candy corn a few years back......… And you guys say vegemite is gross!!!)

Ps feel free to pick any flavour, im really quiet partial to the caramel, ohh and the special ones they bring out for breast cancer month!
PPs dont forget to try a  Tim Tam bomb

Expressions of Swap interest?

I am dying to try a ATC ( I want to stretch my self as much as I can this year, try new things), and I love Post secret,
So I though I'd see who else out there would be interested in a post secret theme ATC?
Here is what Im thinking, we each make 1 or 2 fun and light post secret style ATC, seal them in an unaddressed envelope, and then pop that and a self addressed envelope in the mail to me. I randomly selected sealed envelopes to pop in the SAE and send em back out. You get back a ATC by one of the participants - anonymously
Any takers - leave a comment or email me - button on the side.

What I sent

Well my christmas ornament swap arrived safely at Teresas house.
So now I can show you what I sent, (pretty average photos sorry, did not think to check them before I sent it off!). The bauble is needle felted ( over styrofoam to keep it nice and light for themail) in red, then I felted the angles ( 3 in total) and their lil hearts over the top, I finished it off with a slight wet felt just to double make sure everything was in place.  Off the bottom hangs a gold star.  I used lace as a hanging cord to match the card.

Im a Loser.

Now no one feel sorry for me, its just the truth. Ask my hubby. Ask any one that has met me in RL ( Im sure my brother will very happily confirm this!).  Im a L-O-S-E-R, with capital L .

Ask me why I am home today.  Its kids gym day. Its pocket money day. I have books waiting for me at the library.
Am I sick? nope, and (for once) all the kids are well as well.

Nope, Ive lost my keys ( AGAIN! sigh). So I cant go out because overtime working husband wont be home till late and Ill get locked out.... In the blistering heat...... with cranky babies.
So Im home and the only good thing about that is that I got to get some things finished.

I love this ball, I call it my snow ball. I got the idea lying in bed trying to get my mind to stop racing so I could sleep.  I think Ill do another one. Several more if I get the time.

Found and prepared a home for my mini wreath.

And finished my swap ( photo after she has recieved). So Teresa, Keep an eye out. Should go in the mail tomorrow ( providing Hubby can find my keys for me tonight).

Hmm the baby is still asleep, should dig out my sewing machine and finish off my softie, before I have helpers!

Happy Mail

I love Happy mail. I received my swap from the lovely Teresa.
These photos do not do it justice, the cream has a very subtle swirl print on it. I cant wait to hang it on my tree for real ( Mean Hubby says no till December 1!).
Thank You So Much Teresa .
What am I sending her..........

Well that was a hint ( for those not in the know, those sharp pointy bits are used for needle felting, and giving your self RSI!)
