I think many of you know my mother is an artist, and while I can draw and I love doing that

Its serious art.

I have also always loved the more "whimsical" art

Mixed media pieces etc. That are out there a lot these days.

SO ( big brave deep breathe - big girl panties on.....)

I tried some.

Not sure how I feel about it. But Im sharing anyway. Why the heck not.

I will be linking up at Paint Party friday. In hopes for some tips.

There has been scrapping!

Bright arse colours! Now brights scare me just a little, but I thought would try my hands at it. And I think I like it. It was fun stepping out of my comfort zone.

The lil itty bitty banners I made with some homemade clay, I sort of winged it from other recipes online. Needs a little bit of tweaking I think. But I only used what I had in the house. I tried the non glue one, but thinking it would help to stabilise it. I used a candle wax paint pen to colour them.

My funny lil guy grabbed Joshuas formal tie and decide dthat a swimsuit wa sthe perfect accompanyment. As you do.

He gets his dress sense from his father.... The cuteness is alllll me!!

I wish, spitting image of his dad and his pop so everyone keeps telling me. Dont you love when people say

"oh he is so cute! He must take after his father...."

Somedays I want to create, be messy and just do.

Today I just want to make this lil girl chuckle.

She is developing her first chuckles and I can bearly drag my self away from her. I just keep doing incredibly silly things just to hear her.

Is there anything better then baby chuckles?

(And I also wanted an excuse to use this photo from the markets {Parklea of all markets as well! - heads up for the locals} this am, kicking my self for not going back like I planned to before I left. Im craving some tea now. I badly need a teapot...)

Ps - yep, you guessed it. I have developed the instgram love. Horrid husband made me give up my old sticky taped phone and get a "real phone [iphone 4s]". Im loving the camera but I miss the sticky tape. But on the other hand - I can now have apps. What do I need??

A Revelation or Two

Today tv provided me with 2 new revelations.

One a new show called Hillbilly Handfishin - umm hello, crazy people!!!

Im sort of tempted to send Rod though as it looks kind of fun in a sick twisted way and really, my twinkie lil toes are far to precious and cute to use as bait, so ill just watch him from the bank. - Wait, are there alligators there?!?

Two - a few posts ago I made fun of my husband for his debilitating condition,

( ok slightly fun of my self as well, but as I also let you know about the teenage secret code that is eye rolling. So you know im really cool right?).

Well while watching the pilot of New Girl ( can I save love love love), I realized that I myself suffer from a debilitating condition

Shortly before watching said show I made some sweet crisps ( can I say love love love) and whipped some cream to go with it, which caused me to sing Ahh Ahhh whip it, Whip it real good. Loudly. Very Loudly. At the top of my voice Loudly.

Watching the show, where she randomly sings, my husband gave me that look ( now I know it was just cause I was singing so awesomely). I thought oh heck, I sing a lot, at random times at random things, from random words to start me off and give myself awesome theme songs. So I self diagnosed....

Wierdgirlsingitis

I dont know if its something I can come back from, or if I even should try and cure myself, cause really I would be just denying the world of such beauty as my voice. But Im a sufferer. Its something that will probably effect me for the rest of my life. Im sure my friends will be glad that I am coming to terms with this and will show me love and support.

The thing is though, Im sure I ant be the only sufferer, right?!? Come on 'fess up!

Ps - The television did give me another gift today - Grease. Rod was horrified about how much I can quote it. Does he not understand that that sums up good times in my early teenage years with my girlfriends?!?

PPs - I really promise you that I am a terrific singer, that whole voted worst singer in my final year of high school ( unfortunate true story...) - total jealousy, and the reason Rod wont let me sing in his band - he just does not want to lose me to international stardom!

PPPs - Layout is one I did last night, with awesome wallpaper from the opp shop, that Scrapbooking Master Beth and I found yesterday on our jaunt. Isnt my sweet Ty utterly kissable!?

And since Im the mumma to a girl as well now ( still sometimes a bit shocked about that...)

I tried my hand at Scrap the girls - monocromatic - and since I dont normally go mono ( though I think I had it as a teenager.....) I thought id try my hand at a lil bit different of a style.

Ps - I have other non challenge scrapping to put up, but I can hear said lil girl giving her father what for so think I had better rescue him, my girl has a temper and a half!

I cant believe January is almost over! Its gone past in a blur!

Holidays are almost over, Rod goes back tomorrow ( sob) and the boys back to school the week after that ( Josh to high school - sob sob).

My youngest nephew and my sons

January has been about family for us. We have used the month of his holidays ( the longest he has ever been off) to run off to my sister in laws holiday house, to go to Jamberoo water park and just small escapes to the local park , etc.

While Im not looking forward to any of them going back, Im looking forward to having more routine again, my days with less fighting, and a cleaner house ( and less fart and burp jokes!) Im also looking forward to having a bit more time to scrap and blog!

The layout is for scrap the boys - and pretty much sums up how we have spent our summer holidays - WET!!!!!!

Ps Im not sure how I feel about this one, and challenged my self to use only what was with in reach, and the background - a chux wipe - just so happened to be in reach!

PPs - was very excited to come back from our last mini break to find out that I had my first lol for the year picked up!! And to a mag I had not been pubb'd in before - creations - yay!

Thank for all of Coopers birthday wishes. He had a blast of a day.

The mini shoot I did with him - hilarious. Lots of millions of monster faces and lots of blurry photos from where I am laughing too much and he is moving too much!

Though I did get some sweet ones as well.

All week he had been carrying around a cake book from the library talking about his

"dinodoor birfday cake"

All of the items I used were from one 12 by 12 piece of paper ( My Minds Eye - Wheels - Micro dot in orange)

I fit the party hat ( short of time, I found a free online template. I used clear bra elastic so I wouldn't have awful white lines )
The party Blower ( I had seen a few instructions here and there and so I winged it - make sure that seal around the straw is tight!!!)
The door garland ( winged it - a big 3, circle punch and some crepe paper roll)
The above cake flag ( the negative from the 3 and some scalloped scissors - swinging it old style!)
And an extra number three - that was loved to death the night before.

The hardest part of making all of this was that I couldn't move fast enough for the boy! To be fair though I dont think superman himself could have moved fast enough to match the excitement of that lil guy!

Ps The party hat seen some lovin by the time I took that photo. And also some throwing - the thing held up pretty good. 3 year old monsters are very fickle creatures!

It has been a big week this week

This sweet lil guy turned three.

Im happy and sad at the same time - my last little boy is no longer a baby!!!

But three year olds are lots of fun!

Even if they have to make faces at photo shoots!

( Actually thats one of my favourite things of him! He makes the best three year old monster faces ever!)

Happy birthday my sweet Cooper. I love you a million.

Serious Affliction

My (hottie) husband suffers from a serious affliction, its one I find that a lot of men my age are getting and one that even I, on the odd occasion ( like long car drives) suffer from.

Dadjokeitis.

Thankfully this condition is not fatal. Its just one we all have to learn to cope with. I have hope that one day a cure will be found for the millions of sufferers around the world.

Rod has had this affliction from years, you know when it is in full force as its almost always followed by groans ( and the occasional eye roll from younger members of the family). And as I mentioned, Even I occasionally suffer from it. And as I mentioned, usually on long car trips.

We might of went away for a short trip this weekend. And we might of suffered this on the way there and back....

The symptoms might have looked like this

First we lamented the fact we would not be driving through Berry, as it was a berry good town, but it was berry far away so we should berry much get the use out of saying Berry as it might be berry offended.

You can imagine the joy on my preteens face as we went through this.

And even more so when we went through this...

Then as we passed by Kanahooka ( choose appropriate answer here depending on the age of your occupants - I dont know can she? /depends on how much you pay her... boom tish! - [that was a drum and a cymbal bash just incase you dont speak boom tish!])

Thank fully mine is only temporary - Im normally very very very funny - just ask said preteen - I know that eye rolls from him to me are just a secret code for - Gosh mum you are really funny I cant wait to share that with my friends. I hope you say/do that when we are out in public next.

Ps he also uses that code when I sing and so does my husband - except my husband secretly hopes ill offer to join his band as the singer......

My husband has a sacred spot — his studio ( originally our garage) and this has been his own space to get away from us all ( actually when he is in a foul mood I order him in there to play his guitar [ the other woman in our marriage] he comes out the other end much nicer!).

And just because he is the best guy in the world, he knew how much a lack of permanent space was bugging me ( I think part of the reason for my move away from craft last year) he gave me a section of his sacred space!!!!!!

And it's working!! I have been in and out of there can leave part finished projects etc, its just perfect — plus I get an added guitar music background, by a really hunky guitarist.

I love it. And I have been playing to my hearts content.

I still cant believe it is 2012, um excuse me but where is my flying car and instant people importer?!?!!?

Not that I can drive a flying car and but if that instant people importer does not come soon I will actually have to learn to bloomin drive.... But its beside the point!! According to movies like back to the future number 611 ( and if you dont believe me just wait a week or 2 Im sure channel 10 will have it on ... again) I was meant to have these things, and Im feeling slightly ripped off.

If I murder my husband in his sleep, but I have a darn good reason too?!?

Because last night was the worst nights sleep Ive had in the 2 and half weeks since i brought the baby home - and it was not Lara keeping me up.........

Its been hot here, last night was our first taste of summer heat, and since we switched rooms with the boys we have no more ceiling fan. SO in our warm room, with extra added heat from small sweet baby feeding, sleep was not really coming, but the minute I closed my eyes and felt sleep could come - husband snored, really, really really loudly.

All the tricks I normally employed - nadda. I kicked him, nadda, I rolled him back on the his side ( normally if he sleeps on a certain side he stops snoring) nadda, I blocked his nose so he stopped breathing - nadda ( though was tempted to keep doing it).

So because I have a really good reason, I should be allowed right? A judge will understand right???

But then I get moments like these and I think ill keep him after all.

Ps Besides who has energy to date and find a new husband......... Id have to put decent clothes on and start the house training all over again

My poor Lara girl modeling some head bands mumma was making, (a couple were for friends so some of the bands had not been sewn to size yet.)

Lara Paige was born on the 23rd of October still in her bag of waters ( apparently very lucky) and our hearts are full and happy.

Its been so very Long

And life has changed so very much. Reality is a lot different then it used to be. Life has wiped my ability to enjoy the things I used to do, I haven't scrapped or crafted in ages ( though I had a layout in the previous months SBM and I had 2 in the masters mag), I dont feel like baking, though I try and without these things in my life I just feel sort of lost. Im not sure how to fill my days without hobbies.

And while there have been moments of pure Joy ( , christmas, a new nephew, my mothers visit, Easter and my boys turning 2,6 and recently 12, ) they seem to get lost in an ocean of misery

I have surfed through and am on the tail end of a return to my anxiety disorder, which totally controlled my life for a while there. While it did also return depression for a bit — it was only very mild and not the huge soul breaking cloud I have been through before

My children have been sick more times then I can count — esp. in the last month.

My beautiful BIL has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor, one the doctors say will kill him and this esp. is changing my life so many ways. My husbands heart is breaking each day — his families heart is breaking each day

And on the 26th of January my beautiful friend lost her baby — half an hour after it was born at 34 weeks on Australia day.

The same day I conceived my beautiful bean.

During all this craziness I have been given a gift that is helping me through,

A little girl ( well apparently, we will see if it stays the same at the next ultrasound)

Due in October.

Ps thanks for the emails — etc asking if all was well, Im so sorry I haven't replied, I just haven't had the words.

P.P.s I realise this is a very misery guts post and im sorry. I am having a dwelling morning.

No funny stuff around here today. its been down right horrid. Esp for this guy. He and another kid collided at school. its turninga nice yellow colour now, but that is the least of our worries. Our cat may not make it through the night, and if it does there is still a fair chance that she may have to be put down tomorrow morning.

If you have cat and a front loader washing machine - double and triple check first. ALWAYS, cause I can never take back the carelessness of today, and the pain I have put our Rusty through. Not to mention breaking the heart of that sweet boy above in finding her the way we did.

Something that may be shocking to some.

Ahem. I have a sweet tooth.

I know. You are all so shocked right. It may time to recover.

And lately I cant cope. There has been an abundance of christmas cook books and magazines floating around my house.

The rockstar has a slight addiction to cooking a christmas dinner. We go overboard every year and then always say we wont next year.

But we do anyway.

He does a baked ham, a rolled stuffed pork roast, a turkey and trimmings galore.

I get starters and desserts. Oh and my mums potato salad. Every year.

I love cooking mini things and sweets, well recently you learnt of my sweet tooth, so now it all makes sense.

This year there will be some sort of seafood ( prawns and oysters of some kind normally, and maybe a crab salad), and just what ever mini thing I come across I want to try, im thinking a sweet onion tart.

But then we get to the best bit of all,

Dessert

( I promise you the shock will wear off soon).

But here I where I need help. I have planned

a marscarpone cake
my vanilla and rockmelon icecream, ( maybe some green apple gelato for adults as well)
fruit salad
and.......................

This is where I am stuck, normally I insert cheesecake or pavlova here, but I want something else, the marscarpone cake is very like a jumbled up cheesecake. The inlaws norm bring a fruit cake/pudding, though this year I have it literally already covered and looking pretty, well minus one holly leaf that needs to be redone, thank you small child! (oh and ewwwwww!!), and I dont do triffle.

Im thinking pie, though I may be being swayed by the abundance of pie falling across the american sites. And it needs be able to be baked ahead. The evil husband has the oven covered.

I need suggestions. Please.

Ps I really hope that no one will feel any differntly about me now. Please I am still the person I once was.

PPS now I am really feeling the need for , well, truthfully, all of the above.

One particular child wanted to paint this week.

His urge to paint was strong.

He did it in secret.

A secret painting just for me to find.

He used only one colour.

In a very exculsive medium.

With his fingers for the brush.

And he painted it from the very Bottom of his love for me.

The painting was on the wall.

This is my sister. Her name is Megan. We Call her Moo. She lives very far away and I recently got to see her for a bitty bit. I miss her lots. Though am slightly annoyed she gets to be the pretty one ( not to mention is still in her twenties and gets to travel to places like Ibiza for work.).

Its been a long time since I played with my icing Tips and my gel colours, But a class has come up, A free one ( thanks wash house) and its one ive wanted to do for a long time. Cake decorating, and while im rusty with the tips, ive never used fondant before ( oh I lied one time I made my own and did li seascape cupcakes - hmm). Im excited. And it means I get to combine a few loves, Baking, Photography and we cannot forget eating. Oh sweet heaven, you must be full of sweets, cakes and cookies.

Ps I love my lil ice cream cone cookies, but now all I see is slightly adult images. No more pink cones.

Im sad, it was the last day of school holidays yesterday - which means the baby and i sleeping in till 9 9:30 is no more. But we spent the last day in style. ( grainy museum style - gotta love that low light!) Big boy date style!! ( thanks Kaye for taking the Kook).

The boys love it there - i think it has something to do with all of those bones. My boys are gross, so skeletons - right up their alley!

But it does mean back to school Monday. Somehow I dont think the littlest brother will be very impressed.

Scrapping time has been sparse with school holidays, any mummy scrappy time quickly turns into family craft time. But I have ben able to scrape in a few goodies.

This is a just for fun layout of my sweet boy, this photo had been sitting in a frame for the longest time and when it came to change out a few photos I knew I couldn't just have this one hidden away in a box or a random photo album.

He was 5 days away from turning 8 here and now he is a few months away from 12. I mean really, hello, where did all the time go??

Uses Crate Paper, old and new lines ( my addiction to this company is growing everyday). My replacements websters alphas ( thank you to the company for sending me out new ones after I let them know about the issues with the old ones), my ladies home journal from the 1st of May ( my birthday!!) 1956, and music paper cover with a few bits and pieces added.

This busy layout was trying out the new sketch challenge for TSO, by the ever talented Cyn!

I got to use the old office stamps that Beth and I found at the market while hunting for button woman ( who was MIA!!! Not happy jan!).

And the crazy people at TSO let me set a challenge. So Cause im in my baking mood - I did a recipe challenge.

Oh I admit it when I got Bo Bunny Block party to work with over at The Scrappers Outlet I was a little bit scared.

It was so bright. But I sucked it up and stretched my self and might now just be a lil impressed with myself!!

I think I might just like a bit of bright now!!!

And I still have so much left!! Im still working with it! and I only got half the range — can you imagine how much you could do with the full range!?!?!

Im slightly in love with this lil froggy card, he already had a lot of dimension to him on the sticker but I knew as a mumma of boys how much they love stuff that pops. So I fussy cut ( holding my breathe the entire time with the scalpel ) and popped him extra with some foam dots. And now he is bright and fun and ready to go to a special lil boys birthday!!!! And hello sparkly green brads — im in love!!!

My scrap the boys - (challenge 1) - talk about the boys nicknames.

Kooky Bear was the obvious choice with so many nicknames, but I wrote about the one that stuck, which has progressed from Kooka belly - to Kook ( as he is mainly known, with the odd bear thrown in just fro fun) to kookinator, to skater, to skater pie to skate or to just pie on the occasion.

Ps He gets called pie for good reason - couldnt you just eat him all up!!!!!

PPs he is only so damn cute so he can get a way with being a lil devil! The same reason as his brothers. Damn them being so damn cute.

Finally got off my lil ol bottom and got the sketch done at TSO. And i like it. very bright and bubbly for my normal style, but its that sweet lil cutie pie bubba. That got done last night, tonight while I had a fabulous lil lady in the house ( miss Phebs, Daphs sweet daughter - she tried to even out the abundance of boyness i have here ALL the time!) - she scrapped like a trouper I moved paper around. Someone stole my mojo.

Though I think my mojo is asking for a fabric hit. Hmm using a sewing machine on actual fabric - can barely remember what thats like. Skirt season coming up I think thats why.

It did give me a chance to have a bit of a memory road trip with some of my favourites from my child hood. When the big was born I went to great lengths to try and track down some of my favourite books from childhood.

Im uploading it for Septembers TSO mystery challenge anyway. Which is actually a really easy one. Do a lo and submit it. Some of the chickadees and I had been talking about how we never get round to submitting so they are giving us a good swift kick up the butt. And for percentage off in the shop — i.e. more ZVA its to easy not too.

Ps - Tomorrow when the war began, not sure how Im feeling about that movie either. But loved my date with my horrid proteen, sushi and a movie we were in heaven!

This is my aim today, in movie form. To take Josh to see it. I read the books as a teen and over the past 2 months, he has done so as well. All 5 of them and is about to finish the last book of the Ellie Chronicles, all three of them.

Now I know he must be mine.

We are readers, and if we had the choice Josh and I would live at the library. Of course we would have to live without the very cute baby, who likes shoving books under your nose, getting us to read one page and then running away to get another one. Or the sweet middle who thinks they are only good for stacking and building with ( Boy can that child build a town out of books, not sure if it could help him later in life but, really, I think he needs to put it in his resume). As for the rock god — well he can stay home with the lils, ( guitars and drums are far to noisy for the library) but as he is so good looking im sure we can work out time for conjugal visits.

But first Im procrastinating, I have a million clothes waiting to be washed, and a dishwasher to unstack, floors to vacuum and pavlovas to cook, all with a sweet lil helper.

Ps Pray that, that cute lil baby naps today, I want to attempt the September sketch at The Scrappers Outlet ( Im saving my fav the Chocoholics challenge to last as a reward). The only thing is Im not allowed to win no more.

To help feed my addiction to the really cute ZVA they stock.

The last three weeks have been really long. Anyone else thought that? The highlight for my family was prob when I lost my voice for a week, well I know the proteen loved it anyway!

Do you know how hard it is to sing off key really loudly with no voice?!?!?!?!?!!?!!? The world missed my greatness in singing for a whole week.

They had to turn to Celine Dion!!!

But as they were all stuffed up I bet we sounded exactly the same. After all its what all the poor sick lil and big guys want to hear right?!?

I have scrapped and I have been reading your blogs , but ive been a total slacker commenter and im sorry.

I have also found the greatest lil forum in the world, actually Ive been there a lil bit now. Im was a joiner before, id join and suss it out but hadn't really found anywhere that felt like home, forum wise. And the shop attached — oh ZVA my new greatest love ( sorry rock god!), and Peta is getting in new beautiful ZVA!!! Thats one dangerous thing to introduce me too!

And the great part — those silly/wonderful ladies were crazy enough to make me part of their Dt. I know they are nuts right!!! I mean the greatness they have chosen and me!

Im back from the dead, and actually able to sit up for more then a few seconds at a time!!! I swear it must have been a man flu — cause I was a DYING!!!!! and really anything less then that I have no idea what they are sooking about, just get up and build a ridge already husbands of the world!!!

Sweetness in a winterised world

I think this is one of my favourite photos. Not technically anywhere near the best but it was a quick grab the camera moment and shoot and cross your fingers!!! And I love it. A sweet moment between my 2 littlest boys.

This was a grab what I can reach layout, using what ever let overs I could find after finishing all of the final little masters touches on Tuesday ( thanks for all the good lucks!!, Beth and I drove them in today. ).

And I just realised it fits the Scrap the Boys requirements for this month!!

Ps I was going to write about how Ive been a bit blue lately, feeling very "winterised" for lack of a better word, how I was ready for spring and to crawl out of my winterness. But as I got half way through this post Spicks and Specks started and I dont feel so winterised after that.

PPS but then I watched TMZ ( which I had taped earlier) and saw something about a nest full of insect eggs that had been found in some ex reality televisions stars leg and now Im just grossed out.

PPPs - you really cant be shocked That I watch TMZ after I posted about Zack and Kelly right.

Oh and PPPPS - I lost my keys and had to go out without them today. For only the 7th time so far this year.

That recipe scared the heck out of me. But I felt up to a challenge and this is what came out. It actually sort of came together quiet easily.

The ink is used to build the square - which is actually masking as well, Though I have also masked with a ruler and a paint brush for really subtle stripes under the square and a doily as well. Paper with words, I used the back cover of some of my music — perfectly aged and stripy doos on the heart and I dont know if you can see some very faintly on the background.

But my favourite part is some labels that had fallen off my grandmothers cottons reels. Swoon makes me happy.

Ps I noticed how its almost August today and was thinking about how much had already gone on this year, when I realized, I have only locked my keys in the house 6 times so far this year. I deserve an award!!!!! thats a good record for me!

The poor rotten Big chose today to be unwell, so no official Scrap Tuesday again for me. So I had a mini Scrap Tuesday in the 5 min nap I got out of the Kook.

I used the rolled flower that Beth made and I managed to mangle ( just a lil bit though) I am still a total rolled rose flunkee ( She hung her head in shame). Ill pick up a big scarlett letter to pin on my self from spotty soon, F for flunkee.

The white around the edge of the paper is one of my new water soluble wax crayons I got from the art shop last week. Been playing with my arty stuff again, considering entering something in the local council open art exhibition. Not really sure though, have not come up with anything im happy with.

Today was a beautiful nothing much Sunday.

A bit of groceries for the week, hot chips for lunch, playing with the dog, watching an impromptu game of football breakout, Shawshank Redemption, finishing touches on a layout, Scrabble with the boys, hot chocolate and the paper.

What Im loving about school holidays

Long walks to the library with the boys, feeling the winter sun warm our backs.
Stopping for Hot Chocolate breaks.
Sleeping in till 9, snuggled up to the kook.
Snuggling on the couch watching DVDs ( We just watched Tin Man last night, just wonderful).
Lego towns popping up all over my house.
Crafting with my sweet middle, he crafts, I scrap.
Taking bad photos of said layouts....... ( with help from lil guys who want to pay with mummas camera)

Layout for the Dollies elements challenge. Well, it wasn't at first it was a few papers I was playing around with, when I had a surf for inspiration, and saw the challenge, to take inspiration from a song ( post 1990). And then it just sort of came together. Since I already had that song in my head anyway.

Time - This afternoon,

Situation : Serious Scrap Fail.

Ok Well I drooled over Mels dt work for Artastic, and thought that I might actually finally give it ago.

So we had to use the painting for inspiration, and the three "diva demands" were

Feather

And It had it all. Until I looked at it and it sucked. Big time. Stank the whole room up.

So I got my scissors ( actually I lie, mine were in the dining room, and its all the way down the hall so I was using green alligator safety scissors) and cut it up. And then re did it all. And this time — well the shades of brown are more like, well, hints of shades of brown.

And if you look really closely you can see behind the title and the Cooper bunting, you can see some of the original brown ( RIP pink paislee, I promise you did not die in vain)

I love some elements of this layout, just not as a whole. Though I think with a bit more reworking it may work. But I have had enough of this layout for one day. I thinks its the journaling block....... thats bugging me the most at the moment. hmm maybe some strip journaling......, hmm maybe some..........

Im so happy the Scrap the Boys challenge is back. This months challenge is called Just the Facts.

Perfect for this layout of the Big. I got him to write on the pull out tag ( after some sooking) just a lil about himself.

Hoping to get one done for my Sweet Middle as well.

And just cause they is purdy, Some of my new flowers, Im having fun working out which material works best and the different "sweet spots" they have, plus a couple of new techniques.

With just a hint of Saturday.

These buttons, oh my stars these buttons. We chanced upon a tiny market at the local pcyc yesterday and everyone of us found some goodness. Aside from the heavenly produce we brought, my treasure was these buttons. She had a whole box full of mixed goodness and I was so well behaved!!! There was no way I could pass up these glass buttons though, oh and the orange, and those dainty lil pearl, oh and those lil starry flower ones.. Oh my word. But ill be back next month, Hmm, wonder how much for the whole huge box??

And why the heck not, Just a hint of whats making the Rockgod and I smile this week.

Bath Crayons.

We have taken to leaving messages for each other on the shower walls. I believe the one he has waiting for him tomorrow morning says something to this effect,

" I still love you even though you are so so not funny, but please never ever ever make up shortcuts again"

It's a fun way of making him smile at 4 am in the morning. A lil nonsense always starts the day right.

One of those weeks

Some weeks all I feel like doing is sitting around doing nothing. This was one of those weeks. Aided by the fact that my sister inlaw dropped around season 1 and 2 of True Blood, and I dont know if its cause I really like it or I just feel a deep need to figure out who the killer was, and what the buggery Sam was, I just kept watching (in between crashing blocks, crashing cars and reading the dog book Kook loves).

Though really, I think it was just the freezing arse cold that did it. I love winter, or actually I love the thought of winter.

Hot soup, warm quilts, good books and a trashy movie or 2. But in reality, winter seeps into my bones, and gnaws at my soul.

But now I have had my week of sitting and well, pouting. Im off the couch, I have a layout waiting for the finishing touches, and school holidays to enjoy.

Bring it on baby!!!!!

Ps Im bookless, what are you all reading these days. I missed my library trip this week.

Met up with Miss Beth this morning for Coffee.

The thing with coffee is, its right next door to Spotty.................

I was very well behaved at Spotty, just the above pretties for some more flowers. Kept me occupied for most of the afternoon, or at least the part of the afternoon I was able to convince to Kook to play guitar/drums/random noise with Dad, and then when that lost its shine ( or Dad got sick of Kook playing with his settings) to go and annoy his brothers ( again lots of random noise!). Having fun working out exactly which plastic material is the best and the best way to cut them etc.

Ok enough of this pointless post ( Sorry guys, Im a football widow tonight ), Im off to play with Dollies colour combo - Grey and Yellow, my favourite combo of late.

Ps Im worried its not really the fact that the flowers look so great, but that Im addicted to melting stuff in candles. Hey where are the marshmallows?????

It was a very special ladies birthday today, My Mil.

Happy Birthday Carmel.

So I got to get my feminine on ( living in the lands of bugs and boogers it was a nice change).

I had this paper sitting around for ages, while not exactly my taste I knew as soon as I saw it that Carmel would love it. And cause the paper speaks for its self I went for simple. She loved it.

It must have been the day for pink, cause I just sat down to escape the news, ( Ive had enough politics for one day) and whipped up another simple pink card for a special friend. Not sure im loving it though, so might have a change or 2 before it hits the mailbox. Seems toooo simple, but the paper is so busy it's colliding with everything I try. Hmm have to get my think on.

Never turn your back while your super cute helper is stacking your cube inks and eating a banana. Blue hands and banana flavoured glass. Yummo!!!

Just an ordinary Tuesday - good food, good friends and good fun!!!!

And since my picture of Beth was very OOF here is a slightly less OOf of what she drags along EVERY week to Scrap Tuesday, now thats dedication!

My main scrappy business today was finally trying my hand at these flowers. Only singed my fingers once!! Yay Go me!! And im dangerous crafter. If there is a way to hurt myself, I will find it. You should see me with a hot glue gun, actually stay far far far away from me with a hot glue gun!!!

I had read a few tutorials online and so just winged it, but if you want you can find a tutorial here. I learnt a lot from my first 2 and with a few slight changes cant wait to do more. I had a really really light champagne white colour but I think that colour requires more patience then I have, not to get black edges on the pale fabric.

And just cause he is very very cute, An exhausted Kook, who feel asleep before I could wash his lil face.

Now if you will excuse me, I am off to watch some dear friends get chased around a hospital by a gunman. And as it's a season finale its 2 hours of wonderfulness!

Ps - Hubbys band is playing at the Alroy Tavern at Plumpton on Sunday afternoon. Its a great place for the whole family, my kids love it there. We would love to see you there.

I woke up and it was friday today - big damn deal you say? Well, yeah, thats what follows Thursday??

Not for me. This time anyway.

When I went to bed it was Tuesday afternoon.

I played the game.

And I lost, big time.

I was terrified of playing the game. I was terrified of having my healed perforated esophagus open up again. No more hospital!! Thankfully it stayed shut. And Today I feel like my normal self again ( sorry to those close to me......)!

So I celebrated being well, Scraploot. 50% off a lot of things. The best way to celebrate ( esp. When that morning a package had arrived from Little Scrapbook Shop!, and I was finally well enough to open my What is Old is New Again June Vintage kit that had arrived on Wed ( where do you guys shop online??)).

So anyway a million years ago when I last posted I said I would up date what Ive been up to, so here are a few layouts that Ive been working on, some from quiet a bit ago ( retreat and beyond).

I dont wanna play no more!!

We seem to have a special game 'round here on long weekends. I like to call it last (wo)man standing. I win it a lot.

Its starts either really early in the morning or last thing at night. This time round it started at 6 on Thursday morning. It starts with that special cough.

That one that can bolt a mother upright in bed, no matter how sound asleep she was. The one where you listen for the inevitable. You all know whats coming Im sure.

Vomit, multiple vomits.

Fun. Lots o' fun.

And then it becomes a competition to see how many can get taken down at once. Especially when you only have one bucket.

Im winning so far this long weekend. My prize???? I get to clean up all the near misses. Ewwwwww.

So ill keep this short and simple.

Grow

I struggled with this one a bit, until that is I went to get the washing off the line ( God, I hate any chores that involve washing clothes, esp. the folding and putting away), so while procrastinating ( throwing ball around for Dog) I noticed the weeds growing through this rusted drum that has been sitting there waiting patiently to become my herb garden. Perfect. Thank you weeds!!

Day 6

Fluid

I had been wanting to try one of these shots for ages. So when Daph wanted to steal Kook for a photo shoot at Nurragingy Reserve to test out her little Red wagon, I jumped at the chance knowing that the waterfall there would fit the bill perfectly. And it did, except I forgot to add time for the power of a cranky tantrum throwing clinging to mum superpower of a 1 and a half year old. So just as I worked it out, I had to quit. My poor boy ( it wasn't long till he joined in the afore mentioned game, oh I could have used that for fluid — ewww chunky fluid). So anyway fluid

Ps Ive so had enough of the game right now!!!

Boot Camp, Day Three

The prompt - Multi layered, The photographer - slightly loopy. The time - 5 mins of peace after running ridiculously late to drop the big 'uns off to school.

To be honest the first thing I thought of was Shrek.

So I put it in my maybe list. Onions that is, Ogres are a bit hard to find ( not that time of the month yet). Then I thought and decided a self portrait. Im multi layered, most layers are slightly leaning to the, well, lets say eccentric side, but I have layers.

Miss Beth and I decided to hit the markets in search of Martha Stewart punches, and I knew there would be not enough time to pull back the couch ( to get to the good light) and fart arse around with the self timer, but wanted to play anyway, so looked around and spotted my art book, and a few other bits ( knitting needle, scisor, ribbon and my fav writting pen). What the beep, a quick still life. Snapped a few shots until my chariot arrived.

After the markets turned into Lunch and turned into Fred the Needle ( thank you for the kids corner!!!!) and turned into racing to the school to get poor long suffering childrens.

When poor long suffering childrens and I got out of the blistering freakin cold wind(!!!!!!!!) in to my nice snug, gas heated house. I looked in my room and thought.

Yep no lie. Thats what I thought. So thats what I did. Of course I didn't do it till, I had rung Rod and asked him where it was and if it needed charging. Oh and I had promised not to do anything till he got home.

We have a tiny master, well not tiny but with badly placed built ins and windows, and I have our big old front door for my desk. Well, it aint quiet as big now, but now its in front of the window which is where I wanted it all along. And since I was power tooling and rearranging why not do a major clean out????

Currently, its in the "has to get worse before it can get better" stage, but poor rock god husband needed to go to bed.

So anyway ( 6 and a half years later, Ill get to the bloomin point) cause I felt the need for power I didn't get to do my self portrait, So for your viewing pleasure, a still lifeish picture of multi layered.

Last weekend started and ended with me in the exact same seats of the exact same session of the exact same movie. A movie about friends.

Today was Scrap Tuesday, now the name may be slightly misleading. Some times we do and sometimes we don't, but its really about friends, and today was no different. Today our friend Cindy joined us. The first time back since the sudden death of her mother. So we did what every good friend does, drank hot chocolate, ate Tim Tams, laughed and talked about scrapping cozies for the special battery operated friends in your life. As you do.

We had missed Cindy.

Today was also Day 2 of boot camp, and let me tell you it was no bloomin picnic ( the prompt) !!!!! My photographic time was short and well I just had a stinker of a day ( photog wise). I don't know if I like at all what we got but it really goes with the journaling we had for that day

Boot camp : Day One

The journaling - a letter to ourselves, the prompt - Ivory. The Brain - stretched. The fingers —trigger happy!

Ok so these are my 2 fav ivory photos. Far from my original idea, I wanted the smooth creaminess of the Kooks cheek with a hint of eyelashes. So I patiently waited till he was napping, had purposefully let him fall near the lounge window and quietly yelled Yippee and got my camera.

Dudes - issue, red, angry, bumpy, teething cheek rash.

Far from his beautiful creamy ivory skin, but it's ok I had a back up ( The beauty of being in Australia doing a US based class, we live in the future over here. I read and journaled last night, and got to ponder into the weeeeeeeee hours of the night, and it still was Sunday over there when I woke up this morning!)

Think Ivory, think wedding. So I got out my dress and wedding pic, hmmm needed a lil somethin' somethin'. So I got out my pearls, and then I got some of my crystal and went from there.

PS these are almost just Sooc - I transfered the jpegs to see which raws I wanted to upload, but then my battery died and well you know I have NO patience, so just the basics jack.

Im happy now, I think I wanted to be that other template/ background sort of person, but it was an uncomfortable fit. Im just not that background. I think Im more this type.

Ps the only slight quirk I have found is that it shows the post twice on the single entry - but Im a bit quirky so it fits.

My mumma is back in France ( Thanks for all the goodies mum, sorry about the dude-ing), my health is A ok and so finally is all my family. My beautiful Friends are still battling on, and June is here - umm hello, May where did you go??? And Im back! Thought If I was going to do a break to do it darn well!!!!

Its been a bit of life before internet round here, I realise, for the last 2 monthsish.

And while a lil break during the easter school holidays was nice, Ive missed blogging.

Ive missed just sitting here dribbling nonsense ( opps I mean letting well structured posts flow from my fingers).

I missed reading my blogging friends ( who actually seem to have real content on their blogs,) Ive missed comment tennis and emails back and forth.

So while this is not an apology — an, like omg, like sorry I haven't posted in ages ( sorry my inner valley girl came out then) post, it's an I miss this post. I miss you guys post.

Turns out staying up late for 2 nights, scrapping, and laughing and gossiping is incredibly exhausting!!! All my fabulosity drained out of me, so a early bedtime last night was called for. Update and an actual real post ( I know these days they are few and far between!) to come!!!

I know Im as shocked as you are! This family is finally on the wellness train ( well getting off ailment station anyway) , So slowly Im starting to do things like — get to read my favourite blogs, and small crafts.

oh and post about swaps that happened a bit ago (during the poor princesses disaster)

Peeps!!!!!

Remember my call out — oh about a million years ago?

Well, the amazing , most lovely Kayla answered my call.

And in the mail, just after my hospital stay — bright blue squishy Peeps. We oohed and ahhed in awe of their blueness, and I squealed with delight over the few lil scrapping extras she added!!

And as for what we thought of the taste of them, well there is a reason there were 4 left over for me to photograph! They were alright, but with an odd aftertaste, I was warned about. After all the amazing Peep crafts I see around the net at easter, Im glad to have tried them. They are very cute, but not really for eating.

Peeps down, candy corn down ( ewwww dont ask me about that adventure!!) What else should I try, anyone???

So to get my crafty mojo flowing again, I did the required name tag. No gross sticky labels for me ( besides they literally make me vomit — ughhh just thinking about them gets my gag up)

Ps Taking photos of peeps is harder then it looks!!! Esp with the ventolin shakes!

PPs - about the sticky label thing — surely by now you have realised Im a few sandwiches short of a picnic. You should see me deal ( or really not deal) with lolly wrappers like starburst or price stickers.
